I support Stratford’s desire to be first in line to purchase Sikorsky Memorial Airport, if the city of Bridgeport decides to sell the airport (needing Bridgeport City Council/Bridgeport Airport Commission approval) and if the Stratford administration can provide the necessary funding.
I have made my position clear to Bridgeport Airport Commission members and the mayor of Bridgeport.
I’ve also made clear to the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) not to attempt another eminent domain transfer bill similar to HB 5308 in 2022 and to commit to a promise of non-expansion in a legal document if they do become the owners of Sikorsky Memorial Airport.
I made sure during the 2022 legislative session to kill HB 5308, which would have given the CAA eminent domain authority and I will be monitoring the Transportation Committee for any signs of a similar bill in 2023, if I’m fortunate enough to remain your State Representative.
I have a part-time position with the city of Bridgeport working on green infrastructure projects, such as sustainable energy (solar, wind, thermal loop, fuel cells, efficiency) and environmental improvements (tree planting, bioswales, park clean-ups). I’ve had this position for six years.
As your State Representative, I took an oath of office in 2016 which I take very seriously. That oath has Stratford as my priority. Always has been, always will be.
I was born and raised here and believe my record shows Stratford’s interests are my interests.
